Is language learning process different for every child

Now, let's put this question to bed straight away. The process in which children learn a language is exactly the same. It doesn't matter what language they are learning, or even how many languages they are learning, it always follows similar processes. Think of it like this, learning a brand new language is like playing a game. To start with, they are going to need to learn the rules of this game. They will then learn words and put them together which are within the rules of this game. However, in order to fully understand language learning there are a few things that we are going to need to bear in mind.

Firstly, children have their own way of learning a language. This is completely different to the way in which adults learn languages. When it comes to learning a language as a child, it is a lengthy process. This process is filled up with errors, but it doesn't matter, as overcoming these errors and learning what they are is all part of the language learning process. Adults do not need to correct these errors as hopefully over time they will disappear.

The next thing that you need to realize is children will learn to speak the language, and even the dialect of the language which surrounds them the most. You may notice that at young ages children will try to mimic their parents, or whoever gives them care when they are learning the language. However, when they head to school at around the age of three they will start to pick up unique things from the friends that surround them. You have absolutely no control over the way in which they will learn to speak, and eventually they are going to end up with a different accent to you. In addition to this, they will also learn the grammar of the local area, it is unlikely they will learn yours if they are mostly going to be surrounded by locals. Try not to correct them if this happens, again, it is all part of the learning process and you have absolutely no control over this.

Now, many people don't realize that there are many different dialects of English out there, and they each have their own rules. This applies to almost every language. So please don't be put off if they learn to speak in a slightly strange way, they are only deciphering what is around them. If there are mistakes, don't worry, this is part of the learning process. Eventually the child will start to correct themselves and everything will be better.

So what is the language learning process in Children? Well, to put in the simplest way possible, all children learn a language using exactly the same methods. This means listening to people around them and trying to mimic them, it is a lengthy process, but it is going to be highly effective for them!
